Welcome USAPEEC booth in World Food Kazakhstan 2006, November, 1-4.

On 1-4 November 2006, the Atakent Exhibition Centre will be hosting the 9th Central Asian International Food Industry Exhibition – WorldFood Kazakhstan 2006
On the eve of the exhibition, 31 October 2006, the Astana International Hotel in Almaty will be hosting the 4th Central Asian International Conference on Agriculture and Food Industry – AGRICA 2006. As always, the events are organised by the Kazakhstan exhibition company Iteca and its international partner – the British company ITE Group Plc.
In 2006, WorldFood Kazakhstan demonstrates a growth in the area (by 48% as compared with the previous year) and the number of exhibitors (a 20% growth).
The total area of this exhibition will be 7,500 sq. m. It will occupy Pavilions 10 and 11 of the Atakent Exhibition Centre. Pavilion 11, with an area of 5,400 sq. m, will have been built by the 2006 autumn exhibition season.

Being held annually since 1992, the largest international autumn food show with its grown-up reputation and traditions, is used by most domestic and foreign manufacturers and distributors as a tool for introducing their brands to the Russian market. This event has become a usual meeting place for food industrialists and professionals.

Committee Finds U.S. Poultry Safe Witness Testifies that U.S. Safeguards are Well Established

WASHINGTON, D.C. House Committee on Agriculture Chairman Bob Goodlatte today chaired a hearing to review issues related to the prevention, detection, and eradication of avian influenza (AI). The purpose of the hearing was to look at the animal health aspects of AI and educate Members about the current preventative measures employed by U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) and the U.S. poultry industry. The Committee heard from USDA Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) Administrator Ron DeHaven, who testified about protecting the U.S. from the introduction of Asian bird flu and the safety of our nation's poultry products.
